UK ENGLAND COOPERS HILL 31MAY04 - Contestands struggle up a steep 200-metre slpoe in pursuit of a 7-pound Cloucester Cheese which awaits the first runner to arrive at the top. The uphill races are an interlude between the more dangerous and spectacular downhill races. The cheese rolling is one of the oldest customs to have survived some saying, for hundreds of years, even pre-Roman times.
